Day 1: Manali - Rohtang Pass-Keylong
Begin your tour
Welcome to Vardhman's "Panoramic Ladakh Tour"!
You will be picked up from Manali hotel by Vardhman's representative and drive
to Keylong 115 kms via Rohtang Pass 3980 mt.
Rohtang Pass: Located at high altitude it is one of the popular destination
among tourists who visit Manali. Those who are of adventurous nature opt for
trekking to this place, which stands surrounded by great greenery and snow capped
mountains.
Drive through Marhi, Koksar, Sissu and Tandi villages. Arrive Keylong and check
in at the hotel. Relax for a while and then visit Keylong town.

Day 2: Keylong - Baralacha Pass- Sarchu
After a leisurely breakfast drive to Sarchu via Baralacha pass 4900 mt.
This day is going to be a wonderful Himalayan safari with stunning views on
the way.
Baralacha Pass: It is a unique pass situated at a spectacular 16,400 ft above
sea level. The pass itself is 8 kilometers long, and is literally the pass "where
many roads meet". Here, routes from Zanskar, Ladakh and Lahaul meet which
have for centuries been used by ancient travelers and crossed in all directions.
The two great rivers of Lahaul, the Chandra and the Bhaga, also arise from the
huge snowfields on opposite sides of the pass.
Arrive Sarchu plains and checkin at the tented camps for overnight stay.

Day 3: Sarchu -Tanglangla Pass- Leh
On the day 3 of your tour drive to Leh via Tanglangla pass 5300 mt, and
driving past the great plains of Moree.
Arrive Leh and checkin at the hotel. Evening free at leisure.

Day 4: Leh
Morning free at rest & leisure. Afternoon visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar
Monastery, Leh Palace & local Market.
Shanti Stupa (Japanese Peace Pagoda) : Shanti Stupa/Japanese peace pagoda is
build by a Japanese religious organization headed by Head monk Nakamura with
the help from the organization and local people. It is situated at a hill top
in Cahngspa village providing a bird eye view of the Leh town and the surrounding
mountain peaks. Architecturally it has the Japanese touch with small clean rooms
on the side for meditators and the main Japanese shrine at the entrance.
Sankar Gompa & Village : A relatively modern monastery, it is closely associated
with the Spituk monastery and served as the residence of the late head priest-Kushak
Bakula. A number of gold icons are to be found here.

Day 5: Leh - Nubra
On the day 4 of your tour drive to Nubra valley 125 km via Khardongla 18360
ft - world Highest motorable pass.
Khardungla Pass : The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La
pass (The highest Motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 39 Kms. Away
from Leh. There are two checkpoints on the both sides of the pass. Khardong
is the first village of Nubra valley at higher altitude than Deskit and other
villages.
Visit the world highest motorable pass. Drive back to Leh. Later visit the tiny
local shops in Moti market and nowshare bazaars.
Arrive Nubra by noon and check-in at the Camp/ Hotel. Later proceed to visit
the white Sand Dunes, Camels & Diskit & Hunder Gompa Monastery. Diskit
& Hundur Gompas: Built by Changzem Tserab Zangpo, a disciple of Tsong-kha-pa,
the Diskit Gompa dates back to the 14th century. There is a legend attached
to this monastery. It goes that a Mongol demon, a sworn enemy of Buddhism, was
annihilated near the monastery. However, his lifeless body kept coming back
there again and again. It is further said that the wrinkled head and hand of
the demon are still kept there in a dark and claustrophobic temple, packed with
fierce Gods and Goddesses.

Day 6: Nubra - Leh
Morning after breakfast visit Samstanling Monastery. Later drive back to
Leh. Arrive Leh by the evening. Check into your hotel for an overnight rest.

Day 7: Leh
Morning visit Phiyang & Spituk Monasteries.
Spituk Monastery: The Spituk Monastery of Ladakh is situated at a distance
of approximately 8 km from the town of Leh. Towering over a conical, the 3-chapel
monastery dates back to the 11th century, when it was founded century by Od-de,
the elder brother of Lha Lama Changchub Od. He was the one to introduce a
monastic community here. When a translator, Rinchen Zangpo, came to this place,
he said that an exemplary religious community would develop there. This statement
led to the naming of the monastery as Spituk, meaning Exemplary.
Phiyang Gompa : 17 Kms from Leh on the Leh-Kargil road, it looks like a huge
palace from afar, build by Tashi Namgyal in the later half of the 16th century
AD, it belongs to the Red Cap sect of Buddhists. Hundreds of icon of Buddha
and other gods are kept on wooden shelves.
Afternoon visit Hall of Fame, Tibetan Handicrafts center and Leh Market.

Day 8: Leh - Pangong -Leh
Fullday excursion to Pangong Lake 135 kms one of the biggest natural brackish
lakes in Asia. Enjoy a picnic at the Lake side.
Pangong Tso or Pangong Lake: A lake in the Himalayas situated at a height
of about 4,250 m and is 134 km long and extends from India to China. Two thirds
of the length of this lake lies in China. The lake is 5 km (3 mi) wide at
its broadest point.
This lake is the highest in Ladakh and is famous for colorful stones and wild
flowers (in summer months).
Back to Leh by the evening and free at leisure.

Day 9: Leh - Lamayuru
On the day 9 of your tour head for the next drive towards Kashmir valley.
First halt will be at Lamayuru 125 kms, enroute visit Sangam of Indus &
Zanskar river, Alchi Murals and Basgo Castle.
Basgo : It is situated about 40 kms west of Leh, along the way to Srinagar.
The castle known as Basgo Rabtan Lhartsekhar is situated there on a hill of
clay. It is known for its castle ruin and the adjoining royal temples spectacularly
located on the rocks. The complex of buildings includes a ruined fortress
dating back from 15th century as well as two large temples and a shrine.
Arrive Lamayuru and checkin at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 10: Lamayuru - Kargil
Morning visit Lunar landscapes and Lamayuru monastery, thereafter drive
to Kargil 110 kms, on the way visit the famous Rock cut statue of Maitreya
Buddha at Mulbekh village.
Lamayuru Monastery: It is situated at a distance of approximately 127 km to
the west of Leh. The legend associated with this monastery goes that at the
time of Sakyamuni (the Historical Buddha), nags (holy serpents) used to live
in a Lake at the present day Lamayuru's valley. It was the prediction of the
Bodhisattva Madhyantaka that the lake would get drained out, making the place
for the construction of a monastery. It is further believed that in 11th century,
Mahasiddhacharya Naropa, Indian Buddhist scholar, meditated for many years
in a cave in Dukhang, still seen today. Arrive Kargil by the evening and checkin
at the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 11: Kargil - Srinagar
This morning after a leisurely breakfast drive to Srinagar via Drass,
which is noted for its heavy snowfalls and extreme cold.
Drass 10,600 ft. west of Kargil on the road to Srinagar, are a small township
lying in the centre of a valley of the same name. It has become famous as
the second coldest inhabited place in the world by virtue of the intense cold
that descends upon the valley along with repeated snowfall during winter.
Winter temperature is sometimes known to plummet to below freezing levels.
During the spring and summer, however the valley around the township becomes
very picturesque as the gently undulating hillsides turn into lush green pastures
are splashed with a variety of fragrant wild flowers. Its inhabitants are
mainly of Darad stock, an Aryan race believed to have originally migrated
to the high valleys of the western Himalayas from the Central Asian steppes.
They speak Shina which, unlike the Tibetan-originated Ladakhi dialects spoken
elsewhere in Ladakh region, belong to the Indo-European linguistic family.
Their ancestral sport, Horse Polo, which the Darads play with particular zeal,
resembles our modern polo.
After Zoji-la pass, drive through Sonamarg, the gold valley, past winding
roads into Srinagar. Reach Srinagar and check into your houseboat for an overnight
stay.

Day 12: Srinagar
Morning free for Lesiure activities. In the afternoon transfer to Srinagar
airport to board the flight for your onward journey to back home with sweet
and pleasant memories of your "Panoramic Ladakh Tour" escorted by
